This famous art landscape photograph from the Apollo 11 spacecraft that was the first to land a man on the moon, taken on July 20th, 1969 by Michael Collins, Command Module Pilot, shows the Earth rising above the moon's horizon. A unique landscape to say the least. This image was inspirational in the early 1970s for the environmental movement when energy conservation and ecological concerns were just getting under way.
